PRC Certificate
It is essential that any PRC repairs or works result in a valid PRC certificate for the home, which are recognised and accepted (by lenders) scheme.
What is a PRC Certificate?
PRC Certificates are issued by qualified PRC Engineers once a PRC home has been repaired using an approved PRC repair scheme and judged to meet the requirements of the PRC repair scheme.
It is this Certificate which all lenders will look for when assessing mortgageability. The Company who we utilise can draw on 40 years experience in the field of PRC house repairs. Clients should therefore be reassured that they are in safe hands.

Retrospective PRC Certification
After the advent of the Housing Defects Legislation there were a number of approaches adopted to repairing PRC Houses. While in the main these involved the replacement of the load bearing concrete with masonry, there were a few exceptions.
Airey houses were, and continue to be, repaired to schemes which were not PRC Homes Ltd registered. Many local authorities utilised repair systems such as the Leeds Metropolitan, or what we know as the “Halifax” scheme. Additionally, there were a large number of Airey houses repaired using schemes which replaced the external concrete posts with steel posts whereupon the concrete panels were put back on.
Many Wates type houses were “repaired” utilising a scheme developed by a midlands council. In this design the concrete panels were retained and a brick rain screen was erected around the exterior (some treatment of the concrete was carried out as well).
We at SC Construction and Build Ltd can arrange retrospective certification for the schemes detailed above, in addition to all houses repaired utilising PRC Homes Ltd approved designs.
In essence, if a PRC property has had a repair carried out then we are confident that we can supply any requisite certification.
